Help keep art program alive

The recent Night of the Arts event with Oak Harbor and North Whidbey middle schools was a success due to the children of our town. They displayed skills and vision in music and art that they, their parents and the community were very proud of. It is apparent to us as middle school art educators, that your elementary art teachers are serving the needs of our kids, and that it is vital that we continue the programs that have served our community so well.

With your “yes” votes for two school levies on March 10, we will be able to continue to give our children the best art education we can. This not only connects hundreds of kids to school that may otherwise be disinterested, but it starts preparing them today for a competitive arts market that is worth hundreds of billions of dollars in this country alone. The small amount we pay for our kids today, stems the tide of costly ignorance in the future. Vote “yes” twice on March 10.
