Adios to Eileen Brown’s most enjoyable weekly column, “Life On Whidbey.”

Her newsy bits will be missed by these old eyes. I was quite shocked to read in last week’s paper that the piece was to be her last. I found it interesting to read her info on local folks — things that didn’t have to do with crime, government, financial messes, budgets, vehicle wrecks, and the like.

Eileen gave us the local down-home type news. I hope Eileen is on to bigger and better things. Who will carry on Dorothy Neil’s great record?
