Letters to the Editor

It’s plein to see who helped

We are still basking in the glow of yet another successful Plein Air Painters’ U.S. Open, but wanted to take the time to thank all the wonderful sponsors, volunteers and restaurants that made the entire event possible.

Here is a huge thanks to our sponsors, who without their financial and emotional support, Plein Air would not happen:

Anonymous, Ann Campbell, Cole Gallery, Compass Rose, Coupe De Villa, Coupe’s View Studio, Coupeville Inn, Crockett Barn, Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve, Gene’s Arts and Frames, Jim and Margaret Livermore, James Moore artist, Oystercatcher, Suzanne Ramsey, Gabrielle and Bill Thurman, Whidbey Island Bank.

We also extend a huge thank you to all the volunteers who assisted with artist check in, gala set up and takedown, and all the other logistics that go toward the smooth running of a large event.

Finally, we thank all the restaurants that prepared a lovely assortment of delectables and wines for the patrons and artists to enjoy at the gala. They are: Anna’s Tea Room, BBQ Joint, The Cove Thai Restaurant, Heidi’s Coffee House, The County Deli, The Mad Crab, Christopher’s, bayleaf, The Oystercatcher and Miriam’s.  Each vendor outdid themselves in quality and quantity.

We live in an amazing community that embraces the arts, and the Board and Staff of the Coupeville Arts Center, thank you.
