Give Mr. Music his due notice

I would like to take issue with a statement made in your interesting article about the new music store in town. The statement read, “The only all instrument store in Oak Harbor.” Well, no store can stock “all instruments,” they only have access through good suppliers, and there is another great music store in downtown Oak Harbor that also has access to all instruments. I speak of “Mr. Music” on Pioneer Way.

It is a great music store where daily young and old are welcome to come in, sample the instruments on hand, purchase books and rent instruments for learning. Impromptu jam sessions happen often, and there are lessons going on most days in guitar and band instruments. They also have a very fine technician for instrument repair, Curt Ducken, the owner’s brother and former band teacher, now a trained technician. He’s very thorough and knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with.

It is always good to have more than one place to do your shopping, but Oak Harbor needs to know that, where music stores are concerned, Jim Ducken, “Mr. Music” himself, has been here for many years, and is a great person to deal with. He will do whatever is needed to satisfy a customer, he is fair, friendly and very musical. Just drop in some day and listen for yourself.
