Build the pier already

C’mon Oak Harbor! Let’s find the money to complete the Oak Harbor municipal pier! Ten years of plans, permits and pleasing all of the environmental powers that be, need to culminate in the construction of the pier.

Our Oak Harbor City Council needs to step up and commit to this project before Coupeville becomes the location for the ferry to Camano Island and other destinations. A foot passenger ferry in not likely to make more than one stop on Whidbey Island. Oak Harbor needs to be that stop!

Downtown business owners and investors are counting on the construction of our pier and now is the hour! Thank you Doug Francis and Helen Chatfield-Weeks for chairing the Oak Harbor Municipal Pier Committee for over ten years. Now, it is Mayor Slowik and the city council’s turn to act, before it’s too late.
