Outbreak is getting worse

I think that you should research before you print an article (editorial opinion, July 16, “Whidbey Island’s pertussis outbreak seems to be winding down”) that leads people to believe that you are knowledgeable on any certain subject.

In speaking with Island County Health Department the day before yesterday there were 46 lab tested cases of whooping cough. With two more yesterday and today they record 55!

The health department stated that it is not yet contained. For many people like my daughter, who is a double lung transplant recipient, it is vital to have accurate information when one’s life depends upon it. Please contact Island County and amend your article with the current statistics.

Thank you and I await your response.
