Letters to the Editor

Not COER versus the Navy | Letters

Editor,

The noise from the Growler fighter plane has had a huge impact on the lives of central Whidbey’s residents. Our property values are declining, tourists leave when they encounter the jet noise, business is lost, the hearing and health of residents are damaged and our children’s health and education are harmed.

All of this with the decibel level noise at 124 and greater, and the significantly increased flights has led to the creation of Citizens of Ebey’s Reserve.

This is not about COER versus the Navy; it is about citizens caring about the well-being of their families and community, and wanting to protect them.

I invite anyone who wants to feel the impact of the Growler noise to come and be in the flight path when the flights resume.

Jerome  Rosen
