Letters to the Editor

It’s time to invest in your local hospital | Letters

We came to Whidbey General Hospital as new physicians about 35 years ago.

In 1979 the modern inpatient area was an important determinant in our lifetime career choice.

Over time surgery has increased, inpatient medical care has increased and many new facilities and services have emerged including Medical Ambulatory Clinic, new and expanded emergency room, updated imaging with state of art MRI, the Life Center for Essential Wellness and Whidbey Family Birthplace.

However, the inpatient area has changed little from when it was built.

Professionals have evaluated the needs and again and again recommend a new wing.

We believe it is time for all of us to step up to support the bond to keep great medical care local and keep local medical care great.
