It won’t end with Dr. Hu

Regarding Dr. Hu’s possible closure of his practice (News-Times, May 13), it is just the beginning of the difficulties felt by all people seeking both general and specialized health care. It is a crisis that will not go away until the population wakes up.

Almost all health insurances are managed by Medicare. While the reimbursements get smaller and smaller the CEOs of insurance companies are making more and more money. Many offices can no longer afford to take Medicare patients because of the poor re-imbursement. All of us are affected by this and should get this Congress to start thinking about the people that elected them and their possible votes in the future rather than the special interest group that only think about the profits of those that they represent. I did not vote for a lobbyist, I voted for fair representation in Congress.

All of Whidbey Island is affected by this possible loss, because it is the reality of every medical practitioner on the Island.
