Homeless: Car offer turned down
July 3, 2008 · Updated 10:45 PM
Regarding Mrs. Vaughn (Letters, April 19):
I work for a living, I dont ask other people to support my bad habits, and no I dont drink. I choose to support my family. My nephew offered one of these homeless people a car, it wasnt a great car, but it ran, and was good transportation. He turned it down because he didnt want to get a job to put gas in it.
Like I said, I dont mind helping the homeless, but when I see them in Safeway buying beer and cigarettes, Im not going to support that.
