Taxes: Tax bicyclists, not smokers

The men and women (people representatives) that the voters of this state have sent to Olympia continue to ignore some fiscal responsibility. I hear another sin tax increase is underway (liquor and tobacco products), and we might as well include the gas tax under that title if you are the owner of an SUV.

To negate tax increases in this area, here is a bone for a zealous politician. I often wonder how state government has never gotten around to passing a bill that would license tax the recreational bicycle as is done in other states that I have resided.

I’m sure other resident drivers in this state have had the same thought as they escape another near miss with an enthusiastic transient or local bicyclist using our streets and highways as a bike path.
