The continuation of the Maintenance and Operations Levy (M&O Levy) will continue the well-thought-out enrichment of the curriculum for all grades and achievement levels.

When we were children, our parents and (many retired) neighbors paid the necessary property taxes for our education. As adults, our (many retired) neighbors paid the property taxes to help us educate our children. As a retired adult, I am happy to pay the property taxes to help educate the children of Oak Harbor, our happy home after living in several other parts of the United States.

Yes, I may not agree with many of the policies of the school board and the City of Oak Harbor, as my sometimes irate letters to the Whidbey News-Times have demonstrated. But we settle those questions by elections (with some residual carping afterward).

Please vote for the M&O Levy on March 8, for the children.
