Feedback: Forget tourism, by-pass city

Has anyone else noticed the vast amount of traffic driving through Oak Harbor on Highway 20? There are times I have come to a complete stop, on top of the hill, going north into Oak Harbor. I know that our great city has ensured excellent traffic flow with proper timing of the nine (number ten coming soon) traffic signal lights needed to pass through, to get to the north side of town. Got that right.

I think it’s time to officially designate a city by-pass route. You know, a few big signs at the intersection of Highway 20 and Ault Field Road, going south, and Highway 20 and Swantown Road, going north. The big signs could point out a business 20 route and an Oak Harbor by-pass route. I kind of believe a good number of locals have already figured out the by-pass route, Swantown, Heller and Ault Field Road. I think it would be great to let all those tourists in on the secret, on just how to by-pass Oak Harbor, as they travel to and from Coupeville and Langley. It might solve a lot of traffic flow problems in Oak Harbor.

I am sure the tourists would have more to see if they took the by-pass instead of Highway 20, through Oak Harbor. What is the big concrete monster going up right now? Oh yes, Home Depot. Isn’t that eye catching?
