This letter is in response to Christine Campbell’s contribution to the paper (Letters, Dec. 8). I would like to say, I’m on your side, Ms. Campbell. I would particularly like to address your statement, “We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change.”

You are so right. If a person in our great country doesn’t love it, they should leave it. If they don’t speak English, they should pack. If they don’t believe in God, we should banish them into exile, and may God have mercy on them. This is a land for the free. And by “free,” I mean everyone who thinks exactly like us, for we are true Americans. God bless our country.

Wait a minute. I forgot that I’m not patriotic. I forgot that I’m an atheist, and you, Ms. Campbell, forgot that people like me are also American.

Thanks for getting me off the couch, Ms. Campbell.
