Rick Larsen is a friend to Island County and deserves your vote in November. Rick Larsen was successful in securing federal funds to save Ebey’s Landing. Rick has supported NAS Whidbey and worked to make sure that it doesn’t end up on the hit list for closure. In the wake of the No Child Left Behind Act, Rick Larsen supports the idea of having accountability standards for the nations schools, but more importantly, to make sure it is fully funded.

Rick has worked to make sure that our borders are secure and that local schools receive Impact Aid. Larsen worked and supported legislation that awarded $987,171 to the Northwest Educational Service District 189, which includes Island County. Rick supported the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 (H.R. 4520) to protect businesses from trade sanctions and allow us to deduct sales tax on our income tax. Rick’s amendment to H.R. 10 calls for the integration of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) into the intelligence community. Since Osama bin Laden is funding his terrorist operations using profits from heroin sales, the DEA needs to be involved in our intelligence agencies.

Rick supported and voted for passage of the Defense Department Authorization Bill, which provides $450 billion to support our troops. Rick Larsen has worked tirelessly for us and deserves our support in his bid for reelection.
