Elections: Good ol boys toss dice for land
July 3, 2008 · Updated 10:16 PM
I have watched with amusement how the letters for Mike Shelton are written without giving full disclosure. So far, all of the letters have been from vested interests who have financially gained from Mr. Sheltons tenure. The islanders who will benefit from Sheltons preserved island way of life are developers.
Just look at his record to see proof of this, or ask any of us in the community who have fought for the betterment of our communities, only to be ignored by Mr. Shelton for the interests of development.
So, if you are a contractor (like one of the letter writing supporters) or land developer (like another one of his letter writing supporters), please, continue to vote for him. On the other hand if you truly value the incredible communities we have and wish to maintain the beauty of the island, please, do not vote for Shelton.
What to do? Easy. Vote your conscience, vote for what is right and vote for someone who will truly look at all sides of an issue, and who will work in the best interest for all of us here in District 1. If you are like me, and are fed up with the good ol boy system playing monopoly with our island, please vote for Dean Enell and begin to get our county back under control of the people.
