I just read the editorial on renaming highways 20 and 525.

The choices so far seem to be highway, byway, passage or link. I think the word that most describes that lovely stretch of road is greenway. As in Whidbey Island Greenway. Like the section of Interstate 90 that stretches from the Seattle waterfront through forests and rugged mountains to Central Washington is called the Mountains to Sound Greenway.

Simple. Picturesque. Fitting. Memorable.

Whidbey Island Greenway. What do readers think?
