My hope is that you will vote yes for the Coupeville School Bond on or before May 18.

There are no shortage of benefits to building a new high school and upgrading and renovating the elementary and middle schools. Let me call your attention to just one.

A keen interest of mine while I was part of the Coupeville School District team was the safety of students and staff. It is troubling for those charged with the supervision and safety of children to have schools which are configured for limited visibility of public areas. The proposed school bond will correct this situation and, in addition, provide cameras for enhanced security in the future.

While there is no 100 percent guarantee the school environment can be protected from every eventuality, having the configuration altered and security cameras in place would be a profound improvement.

Your yes vote will ensure a safer learning environment for Coupeville children. I can think of no better use of one’s right to vote.
