Island County: Plan created for developers
July 3, 2008 · Updated 9:53 PM
When I first read Mike Sheltons comments in the Sept. 17 Whidbey News-Times, I thought it was a joke. I cannot believe that Shelton or McDowell would defend the GMA or the countys comp plan after the sham they made of the GMA in the past. Their stalling, for the benefit of their developer friends, cost us taxpayers approximately one million dollars to defend the county from state action for not implementing the GMA on schedule.
A sham? McDowell and Shelton are the shams and should be recalled or at least not voted in for any further terms as commissioners. The proof is right in front of voters eyes and needs to be heeded. Commissioners who are involved with developers are in office for those developers. They also have business relationships with them and will insure that those who benefit the most from their terms in office are their friends and business partners.
Cut the jokes Mike and get on with something more important like cutting the tax burden. Isnt that what Republicans are known for but very unsuccessful at? Neither you nor Mac has been able to figure that one out.
