Deputy: Actions wrong so I resign
July 3, 2008 · Updated 9:50 PM
Following an incident which occurred June 7, it was determined by medical physicians that I have a number of serious health conditions requiring immediate medical care. Because of these health issues, I will be resigning from my position with Island County as Deputy Sheriff, in order to begin medical treatment.
I want people to know that my actions on June 7 were unacceptable and wrong. I can only hope that my situation will be a positive example to others who may possibly be in a similar situation, to go out and seek medical evaluations for conditions they may not be aware of; it may save their lives or the lives of others.
I would like to thank my employer, co-workers, friends and most importantly my significant other, for the enormous support I am receiving in dealing with these medical issues. I would also like to thank the residents of Island County for allowing me to serve you these past three years, and I look forward to remaining a positive and active community member for many years to come.
