Regarding the photo published on page A3 of the March 12 Whidbey News-Times, U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen is pictured lambasting the commander-in-chief (much like “Bagdad” Jim McDermott).

It was immediately apparent to me that no U.S. flag was near the podium nor near the head table. What a disgrace for a U.S. representative!

If the Whidbey Democratic party needs a U.S. flag for public meetings, let me know. I will gladly buy them one. Or is it politically incorrect to fly the flag because someone in another country might be “offended”?

I also know from the article that Coupeville is an “oasis for Democrats.” No wonder the protesters line the highway there.
