Entertainment: Column style found lacking
July 3, 2008 · Updated 9:36 PM
Rick Levin's sad, sorry tantrum in the Nov. 13 Whidbey News-Times Standing Room Only column speaks for itself, but I will address one point.
"Sad, scary times?" For the first time in a long time, faith and hope have been restored to the hearts of good, decent people in America. In fact, a post-Congressional election CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows Bush's approval rating at 68 percent! Get over it, Rick. The rest of the country certainly does not seem to share your "anaerobic political misery."
It does surprise me that the News-Times would actually waste space and ink on such embarrassingly unprofessional, florid ravings. Do we really need this self-styled "poor man's Lenny Bruce" to instruct us on what art, books and music to appreciate? By what authority does he so presume?
Is this smug pseudo-intellectual the best the Whidbey-Times can offer?
Please.
