In response to Mr. Fisher’s solution to the “bottleneck” adjacent to Blockbuster Video (Letters, June 8). Chastising the entire driving population of Oak Harbor because of a few “others” sounds like military management practices. The solution is that mature and courteous drivers should allow for an “every other car” merge. A sign stating so would work.

Making a right turn only in the right lane just makes the traffic problem worse by turning the whole thing into a one lane even further back. The same problem exists on northbound 20 just past Midway Blvd. And the same immature and discourteous drivers that don’t allow for an “every other car” merge only add to, and even cause the road rage incidents.

Let’s put forth solutions that make things better, not worse. Also, if the gravel pit destined to be over the aquifer of the Dugualla Bay residents is not an issue, then put it next to the homes of the people that keep saying it’s not a big deal to have it.
