Naval air station: Navy people earned pensions
July 3, 2008 · Updated 9:20 PM
In response to Sharon Embletons letter to the editor (More pier, less Navy, March 2), I take exception to her insinuation that a pension from the Navy is a petty desire.
Many people like myself sacrificed numerous months on end, away from our families and loved ones to serve and protect this country. Believe me, I didnt get rich in the military, and I deserve the retirement/pension that I get.
So suffice it to say, I bought my pension through my sacrifices. By the way, if you care so much about Oak Harbors parks, why do you now live elsewhere?
