Thanks for your editorial on Jan. 30 encouraging voters in the Coupeville School District to go to the polls next Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Every vote counts in order to validate the election. If you live in the areas of Greenbank, Coupeville, Sierra and Rolling Hills, your vote is needed!

Renewing the Maintenance and Operations levy is vital since it pays for 17 percent of our basic education and after school programs. Coupeville Schools have an outstanding educational program and the lowest levy rate of the 22 districts in Island, Skagit and Snohomish counties (except Oak Harbor).

Thanks to all of the absentee voters who have mailed ballots in, and everyone who casts a vote for the school levy on Tuesday!

Margie Parker lives in Coupeville.
