Keep kids inside until bus arrives

It has come to my attention that our children attending Clover Valley Elementary and possibly others in our fine community are being let out of school at 3 p.m., but are waiting outside in the winter weather (not while it’s raining so I’ve been told) for up to 45 minutes daily before their buses are available to take them home.

It has also come to my attention that if they have enough parental volunteers on any particular day that the children may play at the so called playground (another issue) during this period of time. Now on the days when they don’t have enough parental volunteers to watch over our children, then the children must stand in line for that same period of time.

Anyway, my wife and I realize getting volunteers is difficult, especially with most of us being two income families. I also understand that the transportation director is new and working very hard to fix the transportation problems. So if we can’t fix the delay in the bus arrivals at this present time, then let’s get our children doing homework or something constructive inside a safe and warm environment.
