Blankenship is a loss to board of commissioners | Letter

Editor,

I was so sorry to see the resignation of Laura Blankenship from the Port of Coupeville. For there to be a subtle insinuation of negative motives shows only that you don’t really know Laura.

She is a natural administrator. She has an “eye.” She can walk in and instantly see where the waste is, the loss of efficiency, the unnecessary expense, and how to improve and make successful any enterprise she becomes a part of.

She is unflinchingly honest. She gives much more than is required when she commits to do a job: her brilliance, her wisdom, too much of her energy, and all of heart.

Wherever she has worked, I’ve thought we are so lucky to have her. She could be running a government somewhere, or fixing a troubled corporation.

The port has lost a valuable asset.
