Many enjoy Navy's presence on Whidbey

In response to the June 7 “Sound off” article by Mari Anderson regarding, “What if the Navy left?”

Mari sounds a little cranky. Times change, we cannot live in the past. We should feel blessed and grateful that NAS Whidbey is located on our island. I for one happen to love the sound of the jets flying overhead. I even wave as they fly over our property on their takeoffs from the Outlying Field when I am out in our garden.

And, no, most do not say, “go away”! I am tired of being lumped into others’ points of view, and there are many here who think as I do!
