Letters to the Editor

Bailey needs to support higher ed | Letters

Editor,

I would like to thank Dave Hayes and Norma Smith for joining with the other 68 members of the State House of Representatives who overwhelmingly passed House Bill 1817, the state “Dream Act,” which allows resident funding for more high school graduates who intend to attend college.

Sen. Barbara Bailey indicated that she will find a spot on her Higher Education Committee calendar and reportedly said, “It is worth a discussion.”

Indeed it is worth a discussion, Sen. Bailey.

Please make your constituents who support higher education proud that they elected you. What’s that? Well, please give me an opportunity to be proud of you anyway.
