Thursday, May 22, I was riding down Swantown to SR 20 on my red scooter. I had just crossed SR 20 when my scooter wouldn’t go straight for me. I was going full speed when I finally got control and stopped and got out of the seat.

As I stood on my crutches looking for what happened, a 20-something lady with a beautiful smile asked me if she could help me. I used her cell phone to try to get help. We noticed that the thingy that holds my front wheels in alignment had broken right in half. Thank God I made it to the sidewalk before it broke!

Bill Pierce and Jason Callas came over to us. They loaded my scooter in Bill’s truck and me in Jason’s van to go home. I thank God for these helpful heroes. Oak Harbor is a caring community and I thank God for allowing me to live here.
