Oak Harbor school levy vote was a joke | Letters

Editor,

The vote on the school levy was a joke. There was no way homeowners could possibly vote it down. Renters outnumber homeowners by about 52 percent to 48 percent in Oak Harbor.

So the people least affected by the levy get to vote against the people most affected. You call this a fair vote? It smells a lot like Obama politics to me.

Just like the federal taxes, the people who pay the least vote to increase taxes on the people who pay the most. If you folks think this levy is going to improve the Oak Harbor school system, you  are only kidding yourselves. Money is not the answer.

We need more qualified teachers and a curriculum that hold the student’s interest. The kids are bored by all the junk being forced on them. That’s the big reason kids are not doing well, and all the money in the world is not going to fix that.
