Coupeville school sports is about a lot of things | Letters

Editor,

I just wanted to follow up to the letter you received from Mr. Kiel last week. I too was at that game and I do understand his point of view but...

High school sports are about a lot of things — building character, team bonding, having fun and most of all winning, especially at districts.

There are different levels of ability in all sports. It’s just a fact, the better the player, the more playing time.

Coupeville was winning the majority of that game until the end of the fourth.

Coupeville was down by seven which is not a lot. If we were to come back, we needed the best players in, plain and simple.

I’m sorry Mr. Kiel is so upset, but he should have talked to the coach, not post it in the paper.

I know there are times we all don’t agree with the coaches decisions, but they are the coaches. If you want the job, apply for it.

Linda Hammer
