Gun debate isn’t really a debate | Letters

Editor,

Come on Whidbey News-Times, where’s the gun debate your front page story purports? In Councilman Almberg’s mind I fear.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but is it not obvious to all concerned that Oak Harbor’s laws concerning firearms in public places is blatantly illegal on its face?

After all of the publicity is it not folly for any city employee to enforce this law and risk legal misery for themselves and the city?

As far as council chambers is concerned, why don’t you provide a suitable law-enforcement style lockbox at the entrance and post a sign requesting that individuals check their weapons at the door. A spoonful of sugar may go a long way here.

Then, quit asking.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss . . .
