Start real farming at Greenbank | Letters

January 4, 2013 · Updated 4:10 PM

Editor,

The all-volunteer Greenbank Farm transition committee, the group tasked with investigating the current management at Greenbank Farm, presented its findings Wednesday at a Port of Coupeville meeting.

At the meeting I learned that among other outlays, the Greenbank Farm Management Group has relieved Whidbey Island residents of a half million dollars to manage the agricultural fields there.

Farming is a viable profession: blowing through money at that pace isn’t.

It’s time to return Greenbank to real farming.
