Looking for something fresh in terms of cuisine and not just concerning the food?

The Food Victoria website has a list of some relatively new restaurants in town.

The following are a few of the highlights:

Cafe Ceylon, 104 - 1175 Cook St. - The signature dish is the Bangkok Floating Market Seafood Pot. Available in two sizes with either Udon or rice noodles and fresh seafood for lunch only. Authentic Sri Lankan curried chicken and other pan Asian dishes are also available.

The Temple, 525 Fort St. - Its top dish is Beef Tenderloin which features three bean and asparagus cassoulet with tomato and blue cheese salad.

Paprika Bistro, 2524 Estevan Ave.- The signature dish is the Roasted breast of Cowichan Valley Free Run Chicken with braised cabbage, paprika bacon, potatoes, grainy mustard and a reisling sauce.

Matisee, 512 Yates St. – It offers the bouillabase, which is fresh fish, shellfish and crustaceans in a lobster broth with potatoes, vegetables, garlic, anise, fresh herbs and tomato.

The Reef, 533 Yates St. – It specializes in Jerk Meals with a choice of wild salmon, yellow fin tuna, chicken or pork tenderloin.
