Beer can effort worthy

When I read Maddie Rose’s challenge (Letters, April 11) to collect more littered beer cans than her, I knew my life had new meaning and purpose and I got right to work.

I am happy (and my wife proud) to announce that I have beaten Maddie Rose’s record for collecting the most beer cans. Only I did it in much less time than 20 minutes and in less than an eighth of a mile. Even my wife took notice of my hard work; when she came home from work that evening she commented on how clean our front porch and driveway now looked without all my beer cans everywhere. Now I would list my find, but I am a humble man and I don’t want to brag so we will just leave it at that.

Actually, I am just joking. I just thought it was neat that Maddie decided to clean up the roads a bit. And I agree, it is annoying seeing all the beer cans and litter along our roads.
