Opening displays imperial attitude

Tell me that the article appearing on the front page of the June 15 paper contained a clerical error in the statement that attendance at the “grand opening event of the new Barrington Drive extension would be by invitation only.”

If I read this correctly it smacks of imperialism of the highest order. If the private citizens who paid for this addition by their tax dollars are to be excluded from this event, what other imperialistic attitudes can we expect from the elite of our community?

Will this roadway be a public thoroughfare or will its use be restricted to the chosen few?
