Wal-Mart helps Harbor Haven
July 3, 2008 · Updated 9:02 PM
Harbor Haven is pleased to announce a Good Works grant from Wal-Mart of Oak Harbor for $500. The check was presented to Cindy McDougall, president of Harbor Haven, in June at their store ceremony.
The primary objective of the crisis and respite program is the reduction in the incidence in child abuse. Community collaboration is a necessary component in the work we do. Wal-Marts commitment to the children and families of Island County is admirable.
We welcome them as a worthy community partner. Together we will increase the awareness of child abuse and neglect and the need to provide a resource to families and children. Wal-Marts contribution will go a long way ensuring a safe Harbor and Haven for the youth in our community.
