Add these to redwood list

A required stay in Seattle in the past two weeks necessitated our catching up with less-than-current newspapers. Of interest to us were two letters regarding redwood trees on Whidbey Island.

Add two more to the roster. The historic grounds around the Walter Crockett Farmhouse contain a coastal redwood tree and a Sierra redwood tree. From the latter I collected many cones over the years. Since the tree is approximately only 100 years old, the cones are walnut-sized instead of the kiwi-sized cones you can pick up from the thousand-year-old giants in Sequoia National Park in California.
