I just wanted to clarify some things regarding the story of KWDB General Manager Rick Bell.

First of all, the original call letters of the station was K-I-S-D.

The station had its modest, humble beginnings in the old Chimes Building in the Spring of 1984. Mr. Bell was the evening announcer and the station’s engineer while in its first run in the mid-1980’s.

After a few years and the sale of the station as correctly identified, it turned out to flail and past practices of operation and content suffered terribly over the years.

It was then James Tilton who brought the station out of the dark and brought it to life. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Bell and Mr. Tilton in its infancy.

After being away from the area for the past six years, I hope to return to Whidbey Island and help bring the station the local flavor it was known for.
