Bus ride could change outlook

Overheard on an Island Transit bus:

“You guys really are the best bus system around. It’s like you actually care about your riders!” This was from a young man who looked as if he had ridden a long way, from college or a job. He had a pack and other bags with him — probably coming home for the holidays.

“We do!” said the driver. “Customer service is what we’re all about!”

Kudos to our Island Transit drivers who make every rider feel welcome. We do have the best bus system around, and it’s even free. I encourage every Whidbey Island resident to ride the bus at least once in 2008. It could lead to a whole new outlook on life.
