Pool management not using common sense | Letters
I’m writing in regard to Head Coach Neil Romney’s and Vikki Robinson’s recent termination at the Oak Harbor pool.
Both of these individuals have put in countless hours far beyond what would have been expected of any individual, including countless hours of volunteer work by Vikki for four years, which helped keep North Whidbey Aquatic Club running smoothly.
It is beyond me how one very recently hired director at the pool, Bill Walker, can undo everything Neil has put his heart and soul into for the last nine years, making NWAC a very successful program. This is an atrocity!
We could never have a better run program or coach. Bill should have done his homework first so he could see what a mess he was going to create.
Bill has destroyed years of hard work, which will have consequences. I believe many patrons will stop using the pool, which is sad since we worked so hard to keep the pool open.
Bill is the one who should be terminated if this pool is to remain open. Some of the commissioners need to take a good hard look at what’s at stake for the pool’s future. We barely had the last levy pass and with this mess, I believe we are looking at a pool closure, which is sad.
I urge everyone to make the commissioners do the right thing and terminate Bill Walker. He does not have the community’s best interest in mind, only his own agenda. For some unknown reason, he is not using common sense, or maybe he just doesn’t have any.
