Homola is the truth | Letters
I can’t be quiet any longer. While everyone gets whipped up into a political frenzy this fall, especially in the local race between Angie Homola and Jill Johnson for commissioner, I keep coming back to a simple truth my father taught me.
Unless you are an eyewitness and/or a participant in something it’s almost impossible to know the truth. I have been neither of these for the events surrounding the personal accusations between Jill and Angie but I have been an eyewitness and participant to a few things.
I have been a witness to a public servant who is far less adept at slimy strategic politics than she is at being the most informed, conscientious leader and decision maker possible. I have witnessed a commissioner that is so absorbed in working hard for her community that she doesn’t take the time and frankly doesn’t seem to have the appetite for figuring out how to position herself for a long political career.
I have participated in a campaign that has been run on the blood, sweat and tears of someone who believes so strongly in government transparency, protecting the tremendous quality of life we enjoy on Whidbey and human decency that I’m constantly in awe. What I’m trying to say is that I am voting for Angie Homola because of what I know to be true. This truth has made me believe that if you want the most authentic, hard working, knowledgeable candidate possible then you want Angie Homola.
