Jill Johnson offers a fresh change

October 16, 2012 · Updated 3:41 PM

In our District 2 Island County Commissioner race, Jill Johnson is the clear choice for a fresh change. Over the past four years, our county, like countless others, faced a drastic drop in revenues causing tough budget decisions. The current board compacted the budget woes by squandering any opportunity to prioritize county government and find long-term solutions to these problems. Any resident who has followed county government over the past four years can attest to Angie Homola’s pettiness in the performance of her duties and her narrow tunnel vision for our county that has stifled if not cost our county local jobs. Angie has failed to realize that our government cannot continue to operate the way it did in 2008.

Jill Johnson has a proven track record of leading our community. From being a dedicated volunteer for Oak Harbor High School and stadium remodels to being a fearless advocate of the many small businesses in our island community, Jill Johnson has always put our community first. This is the type of person we need to lead Island County. Jill has always been a natural problem solver who is able to work with multiple points of view and find a way to move forward.

Our county needs a better representative on the board, our county needs a representative who has a comprehensive view for our future, our county needs Jill Johnson.
