Learn to enjoy sound of freedom

In response to Caralyn Haglund’s letter that the Navy should act like guests to Whidbey Island.

I am not sure where Ms. Haglund gets her information, but as a resident of Oak Harbor for the last 10 years and whose husband is currently active duty military, I most certainly pay my taxes, I do not consider myself or my family “guests” of this town, I consider myself, as well as all the other military in this town, part of the community.

While you are complaining that you are not getting enough sleep because of flying, I am not sleeping because my husband is currently serving six months overseas fighting for your freedom. I am sorry but you can’t have it all, so maybe instead of complaining about your lack of sleep and lack of deck usage, you should consider thanking the Navy and all its service members for all they do for this town and our country, and maybe learn to enjoy the “sound of freedom.”
