Park ranger should be reinstated

September 4, 2012 · Updated 3:49 PM

As a coworker of Ranger Wyman (Sept. 1 story, “Ranger fired after drinking and driving in park”), it saddens me to see Deception Pass lose such an outstanding person.

Debbie was a ranger in every sense of the word. Her energy and her relentless pursuit of perfection inspired everyone she worked with. She spent nearly half her life serving this state and its beautiful parks system. That ought to count for something. The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission would be wise to consider reinstating her.
