I wonder why the North Whidbey Fire and Rescue levy did not include any mention of the marine rescue program. Why can’t Island County and Skagit County form a joint partnership to get resources in place to provide a necessary life-saving program? If it requires the sheriff’s departments of both counties and the fire departments, wouldn’t it be great after all these years without the service to get some cooperation in place to get the job done?

Your paper does a wonderful job of announcing meetings, yet I have seen very little on the fire districts. It’s as if they do not want our input or our involvement.
