Too busy for roundabouts

I grew up with roundabouts in S.E. Portland, and they were no big deal. Of course, there is a catch here, they are in residential areas, posted speed of 25 mph, but due to the width of the streets and cars parking on both sides, nobody does over 20. Couple the speed with the quantity of traffic (I can’t remember ever meeting another car in one at the same time), they were safe. There is no way I could say the same of the proposed sites here. Especially Sharpes Corner, which I drove through twice daily, four to seven times a week for 12 years.
