Wind, rain can’t stop donations

March 7, 2012 · 9:15 AM

On Saturday, Feb. 18, volunteers from the North Whidbey Lions Club and sailors from FRC-NW collected canned food donations for the North Whidbey Help House from community shoppers at Albertsons, Safeway, and Saars Market Place.

In spite of some wind and rain, the drive was very successful. Community shopper’s were very generous with their donations of canned foods, boxed foods, perishable foods or cash donations.

A thank you to the stores for allowing the North Whidbey Help House Food Drive to be held at their stores. All donations received will benefit the North Whidbey Help House and assist our community members.

The generosity of our community members is very impressive. The North Whidbey Lions plan to hold our annual drive Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive in October.
