North Whidbey help appreciated
February 7, 2012 · Updated 2:17 PM
The Soroptimists International of South Whidbey Island would like to thank the North Whidbey community for making the third annual “Purses With A Purpose” fundraiser such a huge success.
The soldout event was held at Greenbank Farm on Nov. 10. Appetizers and wine were served while the auctioneer extraordinaire, Joe Mosolino, conducted the live, silent, and mystery bag auctions of purses. This year there were three pair of diamond earrings, vacations in Mexico and Hawaii, golf memberships, restaurant gift certificates, private dinners, and many other wonderful surprises.
This fun evening was the major SISWI fundraising event for the year and helps in our efforts to support women and girls on Whidbey Island through programs such as: Heart of a Woman, Kicking and Screaming Martial Arts, community grants and scholarships. We would like to thank the many kind and generous donors who helped make this evening such a success: Bloom Winery, Comforts of Whidbey Winery, Holmes Harbor Cellars, Sassy Sirens, Wayward Sons Jewelers, Greenbank Farm, Useless Bay Golf Club, Jensens Flooring, Home Depot and to all of the Soroptimists who worked so hard to make this such a wonderful success.
